Price Level Options Save The Sale

Q: What can you do when a prospect says your quoted price is outside their budget?

A: Offer a budget-right alternative.

There are many solutions to this dilemma, but let’s focus on one. No doubt, many of you have experienced a situation where the prospect is hesitant or unable to buy because of price. What do you do? Do you just end the transaction and close all opportunities for future business? No. One solution would be to offer another option that is priced lower and more in line with their budget. Notice, I did not say lower your price. You can offer a similar service or bundle of services that could adequately satisfy the customer’s immediate needs. By offering your lesser-priced option, you just may close the deal. What’s more, once the prospect has had the opportunity to compare the value of all the choices on the table, it’s not uncommon for him or her to actually opt for the higher priced offering after all.
